Happy Birthday Kristen Stewart! She played Melinda in the SPEAK movie and hit it out of the park! (You guys, she was only 13 years old when she played the role!)

Kristen also recorded a powerful PSA for RAINN in which she encouraged survivors of sexual assault to call the hotline and get the help they deserved. After that aired, RAINN was flooded with a record number of calls. Thank you, Kristen, for helping sexual assault survivors speak up!

Please donate $10 to Speak4RAINN today in honor of Kristen’s birthday!  Your donation will help a victim turn into a survivor.

"When people don’t express themselves, they die one piece at a time. You’d be shocked at how many adults are really dead inside—walking through their days with no idea who they are, just waiting for a heart attack or cancer or a Mack truck to come along and finish the job. It’s the saddest thing I know."

SPEAK, by Laurie Halse Anderson (aka moi)

The character who says this is the art teacher, Mr. Freeman. He is sort of my mouthpiece throughout the story.

According to Amazon, this is the most highlighted passage of the Kindle edition of the book.
